Postdoctoral Research Associate

Extent of employment: 40 Hours per Week

Duration of employment: 01st September 2014 limited for 6 years



Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of

collective agreement for university staff: B1 lit. b, € 3.483,30



Responsibilities



Development of the first steps of a scientific topic (habilitation)

The research (and technical) thematic to be developed will be related to colloidal interactions and forces in biological systems, mechanical properties of biomaterials and method development

Writing and leading national projects (FWF and FFG)

Writing publications

Presentation of scientific results in national and international conferences

Student supervision at BSc, MSc and PhD level

Teaching topics related to Biophysics and Soft Matter

Habilitation in atomic force microscopy (other experimental methods are also desired)

Required skills and qualifications



Doctorate

Degree in physics (or electrical / mechanical engineering)

Desirable skills and qualifications



Experience with atomic force microscopy and optical microscopy

Postdoctoral experience is not necessary but it would be an advantage

Knowledge in colloidal science (forces between molecules) soft matter physics and programming

Fluent in English (oral and written)
